She Ratchet?

Have you ever been in a sittiaution where somone thinks they know your business, but they really don't? I have. Matter of fact I'm in one now. There's this girl, not going to mention any names, but she caught her self spreading my business around. Little did she know, I'm one up on her. The truth is, I could care less what other people say, but my friends are what matters to me. So I'm telling all of my true friends the truth before she can contaminate them with her lies. I would say take that, but that might seem childish..... okay I can't help it..... (TAKE THAT!)

My Big Motivator!

My Beuatiful Older Sister, Aireyanna Thomas
Have you ever had that one person in your life that has just been the person yuo look up to since you 've known them? This is how I feel about my big sister, Aireyanna Thomas. She's the oldest sister out of all five us of, but she's my only older sister. Because of this I really look to her. She helps me so much in my decision making. The truth is we don't even live in the same household and Idon't see her as much as I would want to, but whenever I need her she's there. No matter what it is! I love my big sister. She's going off to Valdosta State this year and I'm very sad. I want her to prosper and succeed, but I just don't know what I'm going to do without her. I wish her the best because I know she's going to do just as well as she's always done. Probably even better. I love you Yanna. I will always love you and ALWAYS look to you. Whitney wasn't lying.  <3

So It's Black History Month? Really.... I Don't See This in the Standards......

As many of you know, my dad is a pastor and yesterday he had to preach at a church in Screven County (Sylvania,Georgia). It was cool. Very powerful service. So as I was looking and it said that there was to be a poem by Roshuma Barnes. At first I was like, Roshuma, really? You know what they say though, don't judge a book by its cover. She got up and read a poem by Maya Angelou. The power in her voice was undeniable and that confidence in her stride couldn't be missed. After the service I saw her tearing up a piece of chicken. I started talking to her and she turned out to be real cool. She said that she'd wrote apoem about how teacher's always act different during black history month. It's a wonderful poem and I thought I should share it with you. So...... here it is.....

UNFAIR!
Why is it that most teachers are meaner on Black History month?
Is it because they don't want us to learn too much?
About our history, our past,
Because that'll never last.

And what's with all this attitude?
Actin all brand new
You are no different from me
But only god can see the way you act,the way you treat me.

Freedom of speech is in the bill of rights
But that don't apply to my life
'Cause when I speak my mind
I never get the time...of day!

It'll never be okay
Times will never change
History will repeat
But who are we to live in defeat
Not me, not me

Roshuma Florence
(in case you forgot i was the one tearing up the chicken)

and the funniest part is.... that's how I remember her.... tearing up a piece of chicken.
Oh, and by the way, her name is derived from the african word that means african princess. In the words of Roshuma herself" It's not Ghetto! It's African, boo boo!"

Time To Go To Church!

So, many people don't know that my dad is a pastor. Well, he is. He's the pastor of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfax, SC. Anyways, he was sharing this song with me by Kierra "Ki Ki" Sheard: Indescribable. The song is actually originally sung by Chris Tomlin. I like both versions, but Kierra's is especially anointed. The whole CD, "Free", is wonderful in my opinion. In case any of you readers were wondering, she is the daughter of Karen Clark Sheard, one of the prestigious Clark Sisters. So it is no surprise that she has been blessed with this wonderful voice and even greater anointing.  http://www.jango.com/stations/2 I have Kierra Sheard Radio on Jango or you can simply look her up on YouTube. I hope you are blessed by this as much as
I have been. If you have any other music suggestions please don't be afraid to leave some suggestions!

Wrong Turns

Being a p.k. is hard because you're held to such a high standard. Always a set of eyes watchin' you. Don't slip, don't fall. or you'll hit a wall. I"m tired. That's it. That's all I have to say......
